PSAP Grant Program for Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) Implementation

We are excited to serve our customers with the latest technology to help save lives. Next Generation 9-1-1 does just that – and your organization may be eligible for complete reimbursement.

Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) is the ability to transmit, receive, process and dispatch both voice and data associated with an emergency call request. It allows for the storage, transfer and use of photos, videos, text messages and incident information. NG9-1-1 enables emergency calls between geographically dispersed Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) to improve response time within the dispatch community.

Recently, the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs announced a new grant to provide funding for NG9-1-1 implementation. PSAPs that match the eligibility requirements may apply for up to $500,000 of funding, including state share and local match. The grant application has to be submitted by October 25 so don’t delay!

GenComm is proud to collaborate with our new partner Solacom for the launch and implementation of NG9-1-1. Solacom helps design the NG9-1-1 system, and we provide and install the equipment. With Solacom’s design, your PSAP will have:

  • Improved response times and location data
  • Data sharing and call transfer interoperability between PSAPs
  • Improved redundancy and reliability
  • Greater visibility within emergency incidents
    • Video from public-safety systems
    • Video and images from citizens
    • Texts to and from citizens
