During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW), observed each year during the second week of April, GenComm joins in recognizing the individuals who serve as the critical first link in emergency response. Established in 1981, this week is dedicated to honoring the telecommunications professionals who work behind the scenes to keep our communities safe.

Every day, public safety telecommunicators model the best of public service. They answer and dispatch emergency calls, often working long shifts with frequent overtime. They manage multiple high-stakes situations at once. They miss holidays, family events, and milestones—all while supporting the police, fire, and EMS personnel who rely on them in the field. Their work requires resilience and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

GenComm is proud to support the professionals who make these critical connections possible. Public safety officials at the state, county, and municipal levels trust GenComm for their mission-critical communication needs. From medical emergencies to fire and rescue operations, reliable communication is essential—and there is no room for failure.

Whether it’s ensuring clear radio coverage, providing dependable equipment, or supporting system performance, our goal is simple: help public safety teams stay connected to the people and information they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

This week is a reminder to pause and recognize the people behind the headset—those who are calm in the chaos, provide a steady voice in uncertain moments, and are the link between a call for help and the arrival of assistance.

To all public safety telecommunicators: thank you. Your work does not go unnoticed, your impact cannot be overstated, and your commitment helps create safer communities for all of us.
