A Month of Appreciation: EMS, Firefighters and Police
May is the month of appreciation for many of our customers. At GenComm, we’re fortunate to serve customers in variety of different industries. This month, we’re giving extra thanks to our public servants in EMS, Fire and Police.
May 4 is International Firefighters’ Day where the world honors past firefighters who have died while serving our communities, and those that continue to dedicate their lives to protect us all.
The week of May 15 is National EMS Week. In 1974, President Gerald Ford signed in EMS Week to celebrate paramedics, EMTs and the entire EMS workforce for their service and sacrifices. It is also an opportunity for EMS to continue to raise public awareness about their critical role in our nation’s communities.
National Police Week will be commemorated May 11–17. The National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum will hold ceremonies and vigils to honor the fallen officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This week celebrates the efforts of many organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community.
